Record Success for Shenstone Village Festival 2026

Grant Applications Open

Shenstone’s Village Festival hit another record. Yes, there were a record number of visitors; record number of events and exhibits; a record number of gardens open; a record number of flower displays…the list goes on.

It could never have happened though without so many giving their time freely. Every single person made it what it was and it was a real coming together of community. So, thank you.

The various participants made a total of £6,007.50 for their particular charities which is tremendous.

And that success is mirrored by the amount of money the Festival is able to hand out to village based community groups. In total £6,209.38 is available – that’s £1,084.16 more than in 2024.

So, please don’t let the opportunity pass. Deadline is September 16th and grants will be awarded on a basis of need and project.

A look Back at What Happened

Open Gardens

Join us at the village festival to enjoy a stroll around over 20 beautiful gardens throughout Shenstone from 11am to 4pm each Festival day.

Visit gardens of all shapes and sizes across the weekend with a variety large and small houses  opening their gardens for your enjoyment.

Some will be offering delicious refreshments with any money raised going towards a chosen charity.

Plus of course there’s the free mini bus service – the Festival Programme is your ticket to ride..

Classic Car & Bike show

On Sunday afternoon we’ll see the return of our hugely popular Classic car and bike display on the picturesque Glebe in front of St John’s Church. There you can take a closer look at all the vehicles and meet the owners.

Children’s Activities & Events

On Saturday afternoon, bring the kids along to our family festival favourites. There will be bouncy castles, stalls and children’s games organised by FROGS (Friends of Greybrooke School), and Shenstone’s Guides, Brownies and Rainbows will be providing other interesting activity-stalls to keep the kids (young and old!) entertained.

Shenstone Scouts will also be there demonstrating some “back to basics” camping skills.

Exhibitions & Concerts

This year’s festival will host a number of exhibitions and concerts for the whole family including:

  • China painters and wood carving and turning displays in The Cooper Room
  • Quilters in St John’s Church
  • ‘Screen Treasures’ – an original display of production-used costumes and props from stage and screen (pictured is Rimmer’s cavalier uniform from the BBC Red Dwarf science fiction series worn by actor Chris Barrie) in the Wesley Hall at Trinity Methodist Church on both the Saturday and Sunday Read More
  • Children’s entertainment and games on The Glebe
  • Wildlife artwork and poetry display in the library

Refreshments

There will also be ample opportunity to sample a variety of refreshments including tea-coffee-cold drinks and home made cakes at Shenstone Community Library and Coffee Shop and in St John the Baptist church, which will be offering refreshments throughout Saturday and Sunday.

A number of the gardens will have ‘homemade specials’ on sale with money going towards chosen charities and the W.I. will be putting on ploughman’s lunches in St John’s Hill Community Hall.

The village pubs – The Railway; Plough; The Fox; Bull’s Head and Shenstone Country Club will be open.

How to find the Shenstone Village Festival

The Shenstone Village Festival will be held in the heart of our lovely village.  It’s very easy to find us, and if you need to buy a programme for entry, you can do so right in the middle of the village, a short walk from the pubs, bus stops and train station.

By Car

If you’re driving to Shenstone Village Festival, then you can just pop the postcode WS14 0LZ into your Sat Nav or Google Maps.

If you don’t have Sat Nav, simply head to Shenstone and, if if you’re coming from Lichfield turn right at the small roundabout (just past Dobbies Garden Centre) and follow the road round to the war memorial and the village shops on Main Street.  Parking may be available at the train station, but please note car park charges may apply.

By Train

If you’re coming by train, Shenstone station is on the Redditch and Longbridge to Lichfield Trent Valley line run by West Midlands Railways.

When you arrive, the station is just a few minutes from the centre of the Village.  You’ll need to walk up from the station towards the village war memorial and then take a right onto Main Street.

By Bus

Shenstone is also easily accessible on the Bus.  You can get to Shenstone from Lichfield, Sutton and Walsall easily and usually the best place to get dropped is the bus stop near Trinity Close, which is near Main Street.

By Bike/Walking

If you’re going for the healthy option and walking or cycling to us, the directions once you arrive in the village will be the same as our driving section above.

We don’t have a bike rack, but there are areas with metal railings in the village where you can lock your bike to for security should you wish.

How to get into all the events at Shenstone Village Festival

Shenstone Village Festival Tickets

As with previous Village Festivals, tickets in the form of our Village Festival programme are available to purchase from a range of locations in the village including:

  • Shenstone Library
  • Shenstone Village Stores
  • Shenstone pharmacy

Programmes are £5 per person and grant admission to every event over the course of the whole weekend. U16’s will be free. You can download the programme now for reference purposes (click here), but please do note that you will still need to purchase a printed copy to obtain entry into gardens and events.
